Terms of Use
Last updated: 22 July 2026
These terms govern your organisation's use of Sigil. By activating or using the service, you agree to them on behalf of your organisation.
1. The service
Sigil is a software-as-a-service application that designs, manages and applies Outlook email signatures for a Microsoft 365 organisation, personalising them from the organisation's directory.
2. Accounts and access
Access requires a Microsoft 365 administrator to grant the consent Sigil needs to read directory data. You are responsible for managing who in your organisation has administrative and editing access within the Sigil portal, and for keeping your Microsoft 365 credentials secure.
3. Free trial and subscription
Sigil begins with a 14-day free trial of all features, with no payment details required to start. After the trial, continued use requires an active subscription. Fees, billing frequency and seat counts are as presented at sign-up or in your order. You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the current billing period.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use Sigil to send unlawful, misleading, or infringing content in signatures or banners;
- attempt to access data belonging to another organisation;
- probe, disrupt, or circumvent the security or integrity of the service;
- resell or provide the service to third parties except as expressly permitted.
5. Your content
You retain ownership of the templates, images and other content you create in Sigil. You grant us the rights necessary to host, process and render that content to provide the service. You are responsible for ensuring your content and its use comply with applicable law, including in the signatures your users send.
6. Availability
We aim to provide a reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Because Sigil never gates the sending of email, an interruption to Sigil affects signature management, not your users' ability to send mail.
7. Warranties and liability
The service is provided “as is” to the fullest extent permitted by law. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law. Subject to that, our aggregate liability arising out of the service is limited to the fees paid for the service in the twelve months preceding the claim.
8. Termination
Either party may terminate for material breach that is not remedied within a reasonable period. On termination we will, after a reasonable wind-down period, delete your organisation's data as described in our Privacy Policy.
9. Changes
We may update these terms as the service evolves; the “last updated” date above reflects the current version. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, unless a separate signed agreement between us states otherwise.
